Voice Calls

Click-to-call with automatic recording, AI transcription, and call intelligence — all inside Clozup.

Voice is still one of the most effective sales channels. Clozup integrates with Telnyx and Twilio to give you a full calling experience directly inside the platform. Make outbound calls, receive inbound calls, record conversations, and let AI transcribe and analyze every call — no switching between tools.

Setting Up Voice

To start making calls, you need to connect a voice provider:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations
  2. Select Telnyx or Twilio
  3. Enter your API credentials (API key, Account SID, Auth Token)
  4. Purchase or port a phone number through the provider
  5. Configure the phone number in Clozup's voice settings

Note

Clozup doesn't charge extra for call features — you pay your voice provider (Telnyx/Twilio) directly for minutes and phone numbers. Clozup only charges AI credits for transcription and analysis.

Making Calls

Once configured, you can make calls from several places:

  • Lead 360 View — Click the phone icon next to the lead's number
  • Deal Detail — Call associated contacts directly from the deal page
  • Smart Inbox — Initiate a call from any conversation thread
  • Sequence Tasks — When a sequence step is a call task, click to dial
  • Dialer — Use the standalone dialer (accessible from the sidebar)

Calls open in a floating widget that stays visible as you navigate the app. You can take notes during the call, tag it, and set follow-up reminders — all without leaving the conversation.

Call Recording

Clozup can automatically record calls when enabled. Recording is opt-in and configurable:

  • Auto-record all calls — Every outbound and inbound call is recorded
  • Manual recording — Click the record button during a call to start/stop
  • Consent announcement — Optionally play an automated message notifying the other party that the call is being recorded

Recording compliance

Call recording laws vary by jurisdiction. Some regions require all-party consent (e.g., California, EU). It is your responsibility to comply with local regulations. Clozup's consent announcement feature helps, but does not guarantee compliance. Consult legal counsel for your specific use case.

Recordings are stored securely and accessible from the call log, lead timeline, and deal activity feed. They can be played back, downloaded, or shared with team members.

AI Transcription

After a call ends, Clozup's AI automatically transcribes the recording. The transcription includes:

  • Speaker diarization — Each speaker is identified and labeled
  • Timestamps — Click any part of the transcript to jump to that moment in the recording
  • Searchable text — Full-text search across all call transcripts

Note

Transcription costs 2 AI credits per call. It runs automatically for recorded calls but can be disabled in Settings if you want to save credits.

Call Intelligence

Beyond transcription, Clozup's AI analyzes call content to extract valuable sales intelligence:

Call Summary

Every call gets an AI-generated summary highlighting key discussion points, commitments made, objections raised, and next steps. This summary appears on the lead's timeline and the deal activity feed.

Sentiment Analysis

The AI detects the overall sentiment of the conversation and flags specific moments of positive interest, hesitation, or objection. This helps managers coach reps on handling tough conversations.

Action Items

Clozup extracts action items from the call and can automatically create follow-up tasks. For example, if you said “I'll send you the proposal by Friday”, the AI creates a task with the deadline.

Competitive Mentions

When competitors are mentioned during a call, Clozup flags them in the AI Insights dashboard so you can track competitive landscape shifts.

Call Analytics

Track your team's calling activity from the analytics dashboard:

  • Calls Made — Total outbound calls per rep, per day/week/month
  • Average Duration — Average call length (a proxy for engagement quality)
  • Connect Rate — Percentage of calls that were answered
  • Outcome Distribution — Interested, Not Interested, Voicemail, No Answer
  • Talk Time Ratio — Rep vs. prospect speaking ratio (aim for 40/60)

Inbound Calls

If you've configured an inbound number, Clozup routes incoming calls to the appropriate team member based on:

  • The caller's phone number (matched to existing leads)
  • The lead's assigned owner
  • Round-robin distribution if no owner is assigned

Inbound calls are logged, recorded (if enabled), and transcribed just like outbound calls.
